admin Google is offering a course again, similar to the one I shared last August. Even if you don’t have a business, you can use a made-up name like I did (dan@dan). This course is great for anyone looking to learn about cloud computing (especially GCP) or wanting a free certification voucher.
The course includes access to learning materials on the Google Cloud Skills Boost platform, a 9-week learning journey, a dedicated trainer, technical mentorship, one full (8-hour) Instructor-Led Training day, six online, live exam guide review sessions (60-90 minutes each) via Google Meet, an online community via Google Groups (Google Account required), cohort and program management, a shared drive with learning assets on Google Drive (Google Account required), and an exam voucher.
Based on my experience from the last course, I found the online live classes with a Europe-based instructor to be very good. The labs accessed through Google Cloudskill were great for practicing what we learned in the course. Google provisioned a temporary Google Cloud subscription to enable us to create VMs, networks, databases, etc.
After the course, we had 2-3 months to take the test for free. I passed and got my Associate Cloud Engineer certification. The live sessions were recorded, and we had access to a shared folder in Google Drive so we could refer back to them while studying.
Overall, it was a good experience, especially because the classes were live and interactive. And it’s free, so take advantage of this opportunity!
